This doesn't make sense. You can add up all of the shoes you recommend in this blog and you won't touch croc's sales. Obviously people like them, just like they like wal☆mart and hundreds of other brands.
"Need more comfortable footwear"? but then under the shoe category the second story after crocs is a criticism again!

Fifth: An out of business shoe store?
Sixth: You recommend shoes where you can add your "own design" to them. Sounds a lot like the same criticism of crocs!

Yeah, yeah they're ugly. Whatever. They're cheap, comfortable, quiet and they'll last forever.

I see people all the time wearing ugly footwear that they: obviously dropped a load of cash on, won't wear next year and are probably as uncomfortable as hell.

Now, I can't say I wear mine out in public much but around the house/garden they can't be beat.

they'll probably just sell the company off to Target or another big-box chain and re-launch it as an "exclusive" store brand.

seems like that's what happens when brands die these days-- see Airwalk, who got bought up by Payless.
