You say, in bold, that "At present, there is no way to find out if you are on the list."

If you're REALLY curious, a first step might be to consider: "Have I been arrested in Old Town on misdemeanor drug charges in the last 30 days MORE or LESS than other people?"

Sounds like the people on the list deserve to be on the list...

You might also like to ask yourself, "am I African American and poor, living in an area being targeted by developers for gentrification, with a crack addiction, or am I white, privileged, preferring to indulge my addiction by snorting cocaine in the West Hills?"
3
You also might ask yourself: Since when has an arrest proven anything?

If it's not based on convictions it sounds like a real problem for the City. Or are these just 'arrests' that go nowhere? Because guess what? With 'offensive littering' 'sit/lie' and 'jaywalking' and racial profiling plus no real independent police oversight, the police can pretty much pick who gets to be on the 'high arrest' list.

I'm really GLAD they're trying to crack down on repeat offenders. Most of our time and funds are spent on the same set of people, going through the revolving door at MCDC. This list is a good thing.

Number Six, none of the offenses you listed are drug charges, and so wouldn't land them on the list.

And Matt Davis - yes! What's wrong with targeting crackheads who are bothering other people? That's exactly what they should be doing! Of course cokeheads sitting quietly in their homes are a lower priority. Please check yourself for White Liberal Guilt before asking any more stupid questions.

Of course with the being of all the "Mr Perfect's out here" that never get arrested or questioned or stopped... why do they give a rats ass about "anyone being targeted" ??

...to be quit frank many of the "mr. joe perfect-record" will never ever be on the list. So that said, in a way, its not their concern nor is their opinion even needed (wanted)

The issues of a secret list pertains to people (?) who get put on it.
The fact that your not on it and don't care ...well fine ...but It-DOES-Matter to other people. And it does matter to people (like Matt) who care about the "other people" besides just their own self.

Number six ,and folks like myself "do happen to care about other citizens being secretly put on lists" when they were not even convicted!! The who-cares attitude is coming only from lofty mr perfects who "don't give a rats ass about other people or the constitution"

Please wait...
