If y'all had been smart enough to have voted for me last year.....

I would love to see an all-ages, non-profit music venue and youth arts resource center (a la Vera Project in Seattle) be a part of this plan.

How about bulldoze the ugly piece of shit and plant a forest there?

@ Sam Adams:
Bulldoze RQ, build private street to my house, with all of my favorite pdx restaurants, venues and stores forcibly relocated to the roadside and publicly subsidized as "too cool to fail" so they don't go out of business from me being their only occasional customer.

Unmentioned from last night: 1. a number of lurking, uninvited but financially invested stakeholders (Blazers, PAM) will have closed-door meetings with Sam + perhaps veto powers; 2. Sam is committed to the box, but not the bowl.

So grand overarching wild plans, probably nix.

No one brought up the word 'casino'. So far.

thanks for chiming in, PDX97217. I should add that while no people with "financial stake" in the Rose Quarter are allowed to be official "stakeholders," the room was packed last night with people watching the meeting, some of them from the Blazers, PAM and Winterhawks.

Every meeting will include a public comment period, which is presumably when those representatives will say their piece.

And yes: Memorial Coliseum box to stay, bowl might get the axe.

That picture is CLASS.

Seems to me that getting 32 people to agree on anything would be like trying to herd cats, no offense, Alison.

I still say ball park. A good one to attract the attention of the MLB. I'll take sports over mediocre art any day.

Please wait...
