But yes, Aleksandar Hemon sounds pretty great. I think the Bosnian perspective is a really fascinating one. In my lifetime that region has gone from ethnic genocide and whole cities under siege to being a fairly normalized European state. That's pretty remarkable and terrifying at the same time.
It's a completely ignorant question--to assume someone can objectively detach from their war-torn environs and not be informed by the context. Reminds me of Sociology debates we always had about "the objective gaze," truth and other meta topics that ultimately make your brain fold in on itself.
