It's a real shame about Selick leaving Laika. I'd heard less than positive things about the animation studio from a lot of people associated with it... but it seems like Laika/HOUSE (their commercial/advertising arm) is still doing well, thankfully. Of course, processing and filming commercials for candy & car companies is very different than a major motion film...

Laika is going to be stuck only doing stop motion, and farming out their FX because noone in their right mind is gonna pull up roots in SF or LA to move to portland and be laid off at the end of the project.
