So friggin true. I was doing sound at a writer event at Disjecta a few years ago and was appalled at how shitty almost every author was at reading their own material. Mumbling and unable to hold a microphone to their talk holes so that people could hear them. Practice in front of a mirror people! Use your outside voice!
