I guess the travel bug has more bite for the Leutholds than it has for the rest of us.

She really tried to make that letter look and sound genuine, and though it will probably persuade lots of voters, it sounded like a bunch of BS to me. Looks like it was.

Sigh.

Meet the new Dorothy English.

Carol and Don need to be made poster children for the "Yes on 66/67" campaign. Oregonians don't like greedy liars. ~hans

When I pulled it out of the mailbox, I thought it was a chain letter.

It went into my recycling bin after the first paragraph. I have developed the ability to smell political bullshit.

That is HILARIOUS! Living in Tillamook and having been to many farms and chatted with many farmers, the recession has been very bad for them, but it isn't taxes.

There are several big things that have caused local T dairies to shrink: the reduction in the average price of butter fat; the reduction in consumption of luxury goods; and competition from 'lower quality' dairies.

To the farmers (not necessarily these farmers) credit most support multiple generations. Grandmothers and grandfathers live in one house, brothers and sisters and their families in another, children, parents, grandchildren, etc., all live of the revenues of one farm. Although the individual farm may be worth $1-2 million, the payoffs sometimes don't pay the bills and many farmers also have second jobs.

Although they have land worth millions, they are technically poor because they have a lot of expenses.

The funny thing about this is that those letters didn't get mailed to Tillamook County!

Please wait...
