"Oy vey chica" as my friend's jewish/hispanic son would say. They have decided to teach him yiddish and spanish to make sure he knows his roots. I like the way the cultures come together.
I feel like that story is kinda missing the point. The thing I like about Judaism (or half-Judaism, as it were) is that there isn't much of a carrot/stick attached. You give Elijah the soup 'cause it's the decent thing to do, not because he's going to leave a bunch of presents under a tree or forgive your gambling debts.
