Not that I agree with zzzzzzz very often, but I think that sometimes, (you know, when you are suggesting killing other commenter or the editor of the sister (parent?) paper,) I think comments should actually be removed...

If we are to be put to death, I suggest it be done Monty Python style where we get to choose the manner of our own execution.

I can think of all kinds of past-tense verbs to stick in front of "to death." that wouldn't be so bad, given the circumstances.
