they should just put scratch-offs on the back of PBR cans.
2
Those are totally a ripoff of Roz Chast (who makes cartoons for that eminent hipster rag, the New Yorker).
3
This was well written. I like you Jane the Intern.*hugs*

Are kids allowed to play the lottery? Think there's an age threshold.

The commercials look almost exactly like Mike Judge material. He should sue.
5
Are kids allowed to smoke? Doesn't seem to matter.

Yeah, I think the commercials are more Mike Judge and the print ads are more Roz Chast (thanks Edie Bex). It's like they wanted to cover all the bases.
6
I play powerball twice a week, and have been (mostly) for years. And I'm super cool and hip. I don't care what the ads look like - I just want my money!!

7
The artist Patrick Long made the whole ad campaign what it is, original. The Mercury is super lucky he does work for us too.
8
Roz Chast*Dan Clowes+last year's hipster cliches=original, for sure.
9
You made a great latke. Your sister is a hipster cat. I'm so drunk right now.

Ripping off Mike Judge? Sheesh. That's like saying anything shot in live action is ripping off Spielberg.

Okay, maybe the print ads aren't *completely* Roz Chast-y, but she's been doing that style for years (here's one recent example):

Yeah, Edie, I thought the text on it is similar to text on Chast's work. But the characters aren't. The idea is, though.
