I think you should really look at which party is trying (and succeeding) and trying to micromanage private lives. (health care)

@D: That doesn't even make any sense. The worst thing you can complain about is that the government is forcing people to buy health insurance, just like they force you to, say, buy car insurance. And from a, "reforming the bankruptcy system," standpoint, it is a good idea, let alone from the "letting sick people go to the hospital" standpoint that they are arguing it on.

The only people that are actually opposed to it are the people that wanted to hang Obama on the issue. And they've lost. They've hung themselves on the issue instead. They look like the party that would rather talk than go home for Christmas even though the talking accomplished nothing and they knew it.
