Word is ... the guy who lit himself up tried to barge into the furrier on 12th and Yamhill, presumabely to burn it down. The problem was... the fur shop was closed, and locked. So he had to burn on the sidewalk.

Seriously, media tends to avoid giving attention to suicide attempts as a matter of course. Doesn't mean there's a blanket ban, but it's not high on our priority list. More here:

@Reymont: BIG UPS. Although I actually ripped this straight off from Byron Beck, and then thought, no, Davis, don't give him credit. This was revenge for Beck failing to come to Stephen Beaudoin's "Songs For Haiti" event last week. I think we're all square, now.

Whoa, that self-immolation thing actually happened? I read temblors comment and assumed it was just dark humor. Then, I continued reading and my eyes grew cartoonishly wide, my eyebrows nearly flew off into the sky and my lips pursed like a Gucci bag full of shivering Chihuahua.

That is ... that's ... wow. What an incredibly painful way to off yourself.
