Can anyone explain to me why they spelled basterds the way they did? Love the Lille ads.

Fucking badass.

@ujfoyt: I don't think they ever explain it in the film, but the impression I had was that it's spelled that way 'cause that's how either Aldo Raine or Donny Donowitz engraved it into the baseball bat Donowitz uses to bludgeon Nazis. Spelling was not those dude's strong suit, apparently.

Haiti/cause-of-the-moment is a great way for companies to get advertising through word of mouth. Not saying that these causes aren't worthy, I'm saying the purpose isn't exactly solely for the benefit of those in need when corps use the cause.

unicode travesty, Upper Playground almost always has some sort of benefit project going on. It's part of their business model.

There was already a film in the 70's called "Inglorious Bastards".
8
OK That was the most awesome things I've seen in a while.

Now, its the most ridiculous thing in the world when someone points at, say, Grand Theft Auto, and says that it'll make kids steal cars and kill hookers.

But I did my time in the Army, and it's really hard to take a kid off the farm or out of the ghetto and turn him into only the 'right' kind of killer. You've got to shoot to kill in battle, but once they're in your power you have to stop.

Remember the Abu Ghraib abuse photos? I hate sounding like a paranoid old man, but I really think this movie is going to directly cause more of that kind of thing.

Reymont, enlighten us.

Just WTF are you talking about?

This movie glamorizes US soldiers torturing and murdering POWs. Based on my experience in the Army, and based on it's string of failures in this area in the last couple of years, I predict the popularity of this movie will encourage more such tragedies.

The people who buy these posters will be the same people who are shocked - SHOCKED - when the next set of Abu Ghraib photos leak out.

Or you could have just tried reading it again, Jack. Some people need a little more time - it's okay, no one's judging.

Please wait...
