Of course those dogs are Tea Party members! Don't you know we have a Socialist in the White House (Bo Obama = Portuguese Water Dog = Portugal = Europe = Socialist! Don't you see the connections!)! Bo just wants to take all of the treats that you've worked your whole life for and give them to a bunch of lazy chihuahuas, who are taking jobs away from real American working dogs! Wake up, people!

Only British elites and yoga instructors drink tea. A true populist movement would be an energy drink party.

Wow, Julie in Eugene. Drinking the racist Kool-Aid™ in huge gulps this morning, I see.
4
All this talk of tea-bagging and wieners could give one ideas.
5
I thought Julie should win comment of the week if she were joking.

If she's not, she should win a painful face rash.

Nothing says "common sense" like putting stickers on a dog.

It's a free country! I can crash my plane into any building I want!

(BTW, I was joking, folks... I'm new around here, so next time I'll try laying it on a little thicker.)

Julie, I thought your discussion of weiners and tea-bagging was appropriately thick. I understood it.

What's thick is Jackattack's skull.

Nonetheless, the Tea Baggers show shots of adorable puppies to downplay the fact that their rally was horribly underattended. Estimates were 1000-1200 people, when the advisory released ahead of time by the movement claimed it would be a "rally of thousands."

So they were at least 800 shy of the goal. Showing the adorable puppies instead of a lackluster crowd is not a bad strategy...

@Chunty:

Eh, probably a bit too soon. Granted, the teabaggers have been all over it, but we need not stoop that low.

@Bronch:
"Estimates were 1000-1200 people, when the advisory released ahead of time by the movement claimed it would be a "rally of thousands."

Exactly. I think it's well past time we start calling out this "grassroots movement" for what it is: a bunch of whiny old people trying to live out what they missed out on in 2008 through a very poorly attended facsimile of the Barack Obama campaign.

It just seems so desperate. And the fact that people are taking it as seriously as they are is causing everyone to ignore how badly the country actually wants CHANGE.

I agree all of us want change. The question is what change do we want? More government rules, regulations, taxes, fees, fines, seat belt tickets, cell phone tickets, no invasive weed inspection sticker on your inner tube/flotation device tickets? Your 10 yr. old kid playing on a raft on the side of the lake without a life jacket $350 ticket? Tea baggers want less government. The Tea party movement began 12/16/07 during the Ron Paul for president campaign. Tea baggers want to stop the bail outs, end our foreign policy of intervening in other countries, end the huge waste of money called the war on drugs, the harassment of the poor laughingly called the war on poverty, over turn the patriot act and FISA legislation. The republican party has been trying to take over the tea parties (like Palin) and the tea parties are taking over the republican party! Which is what the republican party used to be! The freedom party, it was started to fight slavery before the civil war and now we want to end the enslavement of people by government. They call us libertarians like that is a bad thing? It means liberty, the right to live your life as you see fit as long as you do not harm anyone else. That was originally in liberal until it morphed into the more government party. Both parties have sold out to the huge companies for campaign donations. Look at "health care reform" read the actual document it is a great deal for the insurance companies and the drug companies. Not so great for us, the people that want to cut costs on healthcare. If we got the government out of healthcare regulation costs would be reduced by 80 to 85% check out Dr Mary Ruwarts writings, I have seen articles in the AARP magazine confirming her writings! Look at the Mexican healthcare system, if we have to copy a neighbors system let us choose theirs, Canada's is awful check out the Canadian health ministries reports on trying to cut down on waits for services. There is an average wait of 27 weeks for an MRI compared to a week wait here. Go to Mexico I can have an MRI 45 minutes after the doctor says I need one and it costs $300. Emergency appendectomy McMinnville OR $32,000+ same in Mexico just under $1200. The government is not involved in the private medical system of Mexico. We need more freedom, not more government.

Please wait...
