1) No. Maybe it's YOU that's becoming too boring and stupid.
2) I loved it, too! And I liked it when Ben came to help Sayid skidaddle outta there, but then he looked at Sayid and then just backed away. Smart move, Ben!
3) Yeah, the dude's got an army now. If only Jin and Sawyer were in that scene - that would have made it even better.
4) Disagree. Their accents make it not boring.
5) No. I'm not really a theory-type-guy.

I have zero to no interest in watching the show at a big theatre with a bunch of strangers, is why I personally don't go to the Bagdad.

I think we should continue "discussing" it, though. There's only 12 eps left. You just have to understand that sometimes life gets in the way, and it makes us unable to comment so much. But we still care!

My reaction to last night's episode. I was surprised that we actually saw smocke's attack on the temple. I figured that would be next episode or so. THIS SHOW, is what I thought during that part.

Why doesn't Kate stress that "Claire, you abandoned the baby! And that's why we had to take her."? Is Claire too crazed to understand the truth? Kate needs to step up and make it clear that wasn't as simple as "we couldn't find you, and we had to go!" Claire straight up left the scene.

I wish: they would tell us HOW that stupid torture device was reading Sayid's good/evil levels; and HOW/WHY Dogan was the one thing keeping the smoke monster at bay outside the temple.

I know what you mean. I'm not getting any comments on my LOST recaps either...and I AM BRILLIANT.

I was never really a Lost guy, but I did play catch up over winter break in anticipation of the Bagdad thing. I only got to a few of the BSG nights, and I really liked them.

But then I got to the episode where they talk about preventing the plane crash, and Kate says "But then we'll have never met" and they act like that is a legitimate reason for a hundred men to die.

It just seemed like they'd run out of dramatic hooks, and now we are watching a handful of attractive imbeciles faff around while the world slowly ends. I still like the sci-fi aspects, but I can't really bring myself to care about the characters anymore.

Yeah, the characters have been through so much at this point. It's now hard for me to remember what I should be feeling toward them. I don't care too much about them, either. I mean, Miles - for instance - he's probably still bumming about finally meeting his dad, and then possibly exploding him. But unless you're remembering that each time he's in a scene, then you probably just don't care..

I think it's fun to discuss Lost, and I think it would be great to continue. However, let us not kid ourselves. This show is a total piece of shit. Always has been, and the last few episodes aren't going to erase or redeem a show that by nature is forced to cater to people of very low intelligence, i.e. the average American viewer. If Lost really was any more "complex" or "interesting" than it already is, it wouldn't be as popular as it is, not by a long shot. It's probably already too much for a lot of people out there to try to keep up. The bottom line of this show is money, not quality. I think once you realize this and accept it, it is easy to just let go and enjoy the silliness. I personally watch it mainly because of my job, but I admit that I enjoy watching it even when it's bad.

That being said, I thought this episode was a little more fun, despite the fact that Kate was in it. I think the alternate reality thing is terribly boring and I wish they would just dispense with this b.s. - we don't have time for this shit. I was glad that the annoying temple characters were killed off (at least it seems that way?) but it's likely that they will either come back or be replaced with even more imbecilic troglodytes whose sole purpose is to waste our time and insult our intelligence. I don't think they really gave us much more in the way of information that would allow us to draw more conclusions about what it all "means".

As crappy as this show is I still think it's better than about 99% of what's on television these days. I do have to admit though, that for me the discussions about the show are more fun than the show itself. Maybe I've been missing out by not going to the Bagdad?

Last night's episode was definitely the worst of the season by far.

Yes it is good the two temple goons are dead, but it just felt like a complete filler episode which is disappointing considering there are only 10 episodes left.

And Locke/Smokie walking off at the end... haven't we seen that before? BORING!

I liked last nights episode. Like ROM I was surprised by all the killing happening right then rather than having to wait another week. Although the t-rex-esque sound effect for the smoke monster "roaring" was sort of cheesy. I think maybe because it seemed like literally the same sound effect each time.

Also, when Sayid pulled Dogen into the water, they flew like 15 feet through the air. It looked sort of funny.

With regards to discussing the show - for me it's a matter of having IRL friends to discuss with. I usually watch with a group of people and so I have an outlet with them to talk about things. I don't need to go online and get into it with strangers anymore. Also, with the end being so close, there's not as much to speculate about anymore.

Also, Joe - there are 10 episodes left before the 2 ep. finale. So really we are only a third of the way through the season.

1. Smokey/Alterna-Locke is pissing me off with the vagary.
2. Claire is either batshit crazy or dumb as a rock if she doesn't know that someone had to take care of Aaron when she went missing. Also: Why the hell didn't Kate tell Claire that Aaron was with his grandma?
3. Where the hell is Widmore?
4. If they keep making me watch one more commercial every 3 minutes I'll kill someone. Most likely my housemate. Poor bastard won't even know what's coming.
5. I hate the fact I have to watch 10 more episodes of this crap and know I'll probably have more questions than answers.
9
Me to friend: Watching Lost tonight?
Friend: I FUCKING HATE LOST!!! It is so annoying, and I can't stand it anymore! (pause) But yeah, I'm watching it.

i think people are staying home so they can rub their genatalia in pleasure over how awesomely awesome the show is. the lights are too bright at the Bagdad. (i found this out when i went to the first Twilight movie. em-barrased!)

Commercials - I thought last night's episode was less commercially than usual. There was like ten minutes of scenes before the title screen!
Plus, what about DVR?

It makes me chuckle that there are so many pissed off people who HAVE to watch this show. Do yourself a favor, if you HAVE to watch it, then stop worrying so much about whether it's a good show or not. Discussions on that matter never go anywhere, and all you're doing is making yourself more frustrated and angry. That's my advice!

Yeah, where is Widmore? Maybe he'll show up on a battle cruiser next episode. I mean, chances are fairly high that he's the one Jacob is expecting to come to the island, right?

I bore of the typical Lost refrain where one character threatens/warns that if the other character (or other characters) do or do not do something "they will die."

Which is why I was mildly pleased to finally see some killin'! Thank you, Sayids.

I really like Miles and wish he had more air time. As the comic foil, he's a welcome contrast to every other characters humorless, self-absorbed and melodramatic bullshit.

I laughed when he noted that Claire was still pretty hot.

I have NO other thoughts on this show.
13
TWS, What about Hurley? He's a good comic foil. I'd be happy if Hurley was in every scene (and if there was ever a scene without him, all the characters in it would just be saying over and over, "Where's Hurley?" har har).

Sayid killed like 5 people in that episode! And charged up and stabbed Smocke. That move surprised me the most.

The one question that has been eating at me for the last few seasons is: If Sayid is/was so in love with Nadia why did he hook up with Shannon? They appeared to be pretty hot & heavy in the 48 days before she died. In fact I thought last night when Sayid said that the only thing he ever loved died in his arms he might be talking about Shannon, but the writers didn't swerve like that.
Also why the hell doesn't Walt get a story in the alt-no island world? I know the actor got older, but I remember the writers/producers claiming that they had plans to bring him back. One would assume they would have been smart and filmed scenes with him 4-5 years ago to be used this season (ala Babylon 5), but it's becoming more obvious that they just make everything up as they go along.

I don't go to the Bagdad shows because:
1) I don't want to hassle with going out on a week night to possibly sit next to someone who will talk thru the whole show.
2) I assume their showing still has commercials. Thanks to the east/west time change I am able to find the show online commercial free (sometimes before it even airs on the west coast)
3) I can watch the show without pants on at home.

@ROM,

You're right. Hurley is funny. I stand corrected. He and MIiles need their own spin-off show!
16
I'm glad the temple sidekick/translator guy died. I hate hippies.
17
Miles might have vaulted Hurley to become my favorite character last night.

"I just figured he'd berate me until I left."

Quick amendment to my previous theory from Episode 1 - I'm starting to think that maybe this alt-universe is where Smokey's promises get fulfilled? Or maybe even Jacob's? I at first thought that some of the Losties (Miles/Hurley/maybe Jack or Kate) would accidentally discover the alt-universe, and hilarity would ensue from there, but now I'm wondering if Smokey's just gonna up and SHOW them glimpses from this universe and tell them "This is what you have waiting for you IF YOU JOIN ME."

And they gotta decide whether to go along with it or stop him.

I still believe Sawyer is running a con, or thinking of running a con on Smokey. I don't think he's part of Locke's team, although it presents an interesting finale if that's the case. Kate (who I think is following Locke out of awe/bewilderment, and will snap out of it by next episode and bail out) having to choose between Jack (Jacob) or Sawyer (Smokey) in order to decide who wins.

Dogen and Lennon getting it in the last 3 minutes, followed by Ben going "ohhhhhhh ffffffuuuuuu" was pretty damned entertaining.

I missed Keamy. Until I realized he was kind of doing a riff on Walken's Frank White from King Of New York

hey have you all seen this?
