God. He's such a fucking fameball.
2
this particular comment of Breedlove's is actually pretty rational. Sure, he has a history of saying crazy shit to stay in the limelight, but on this instance, I can't find fault with anything he said.
3
It is beyond my comprehension how people justify listening to this douchebag.
4
keep on linkin' that chicken!
5
I feel sorry for Beau. His affair with Adams has obviously messed up his life and subjected him to unfortunate media attention. I really think we should all stop ignoring his cries for help.
6
A politician lying? Lying about gay sex? Lying about gay sex in America? Gee willickers!
7
Poor thing doesn't have a grasp on irony.

He's desperate. The recall is basically dead. They're reporting themselves they only have between 12K and 15K signatures. His time in the spotlight is just about over.

On another note from this story. Did anyone ever find out who was behind the signature gathering firm the recall campaign employed with Timmy Boyle's money? Maybe I missed it. I thought it was fishy there was no campaign history.

Ugh...ok I'm an admitted friend of Beau, so feel free to tell me what a fucking moron I am, but consider this:

Have you ever been in a relationship that ended VERY poorly, in the pulic eye, where not only was your heart broken, but your life was ruined as a result?

Beau had a job, a nice place, a nice car, all of his own accord. Then ANOTHER douchebag you might consider (Adams) ruined that for him. He got fired as soon as his name hit the press. He lost everything. Nobody will hire this newfound "liability" except the recall campaign.

Being a part of this campaign for him isn't about fame. It's about trying to come to grips with something emotionally BRUTAL for him.

If someone broke my heart and smeared my name like that, there'd be a whole lot less of what everyone is calling "fame whoring" and a whole lot more BURNING MY EX'S SHIT.

Is it misdirected and often times irrational? YES, and I've told the man (yes, he's now a grown assed man making grown man decisions, good and bad) on more than one occasion. But please try to empathize for ONE second, instead of being that dick/bitch on the street yelling "You're a fucking loser, Beau, and I hope you die!"

I've been there when it's happened, and it's not only degrading, it's fucking juvenille.

Amazonfemme, please remember that it was Breedlove who went to the WWeek in the first place. Any aftereffects were brought about by his own doing. And....if I remember correctly, their "break up" didn't play out in the media or any other public forum. It was all over and done with when Breedlove went to the press with it.
11
I have a feeling there's plenty more that is beyond his comprehension. Like how to behave like an adult.
12
Then he should stop giving interviews and move on with his life in another town. HE pursued Adams without thinking through the consequences just as much as Adams didn't think of the ramifications this relationship would have on his career and Beau's. Blaming this all on Adams alone is sour grapes and selective memory going hand in hand. BREEDLOVE WANTED THE ATTENTION UNTIL IT BACKFIRED ON HIM.
13
I don't wish he'd die—I just wish he'd take an iota of responsibility for the way everything went down. Sure, Sam didn't trust us enough to tell us the truth (maybe for good reason, maybe not), and he screwed over some innocent people in the process. However, Beau was also given every opportunity to come forward, and he too refused. The major difference is that Beau chose to run around town leaking the info to anyone who would listen—without ever actually going on the record. So this new "high and mighty" attitude doesn't wash with me. A "sin of omission" is still a lie in my book.
14
I hear you amazon, but no one else will here.

Adams is some sort of hero around here because... well, not totally sure. I think it's because he's gay and likes bikes and urban planning.
15
Man, reading through these responses just pisses me off all over again. You people have NO standards.
16
LOL @ Blabby.

While I'm yelling, I'd also like to point out the following about this so-called "publicity hound": the only reason we even know about this blog post of his is because you chose to go his website, read it, and then give it a megaphone by repeating it here on Blogtown.

If you hadn't done that, literally none of us would even be aware of it. How is that seeking publicity on his part?

Did he ask you to post it? Is he printing out copies of this post and stapling it to power poles? Is he announcing this on the 10 o'clock news?

No he's making a blog post. How many blog posts do the Merc staff make every day? Does that mean that you guys are huge fame whores?

If you want him to go away, why don't you stop reading his blog? Fucking moron hypocrites.

/end yelling/
18
I drink your lack of WMDs in Iraq. I drink them up!
19
Yea, poor guy. He was forced to pull his dick out for Unzipped Magazine and capitalize on his notoriety, forced to go sign copies at porn stores for profit. Then, when he moved away to start a life anew and in anonymity, he was forced right back into the town where his life was formerly left in ruins (at the hands of other forces, save for his own choices, of course).
20
Blog posts are put on the internets for everyone to see, right, or did the internet change?
21
Breedlove makes a lot of good points in his column. I don't support the recall, largely because I'm repulsed by some of the right-wingers and homophobes who have latched on to it. But I agree with a lot of what BB says in this entry.

And as for being an opportunist...he's what, 22 years old? I can't imagine how I would have responded to all this notoriety at that age. I'm sure I would have made some bad decisions too. But I'm willing to cut the guy some slack. I only wish he wasn't making common cause with people out to get Adams solely because of the mayor's sexual orientation.
22
@ TSW - you know what those things are, when you're young, gay, hot, and can't find a real job because as soon as anyone sees "Beau Breedlove" on an application, they give you a RESOUNDING "hell no?" A PAYCHECK. If it was any other 22 year old homo nobody would give a frick.

If others attempting to make any kind of name for themselves in entertainment, saaayyyy, Kiala, could swing it (or if they ever made the offer) she'd be on the cover of Exotic in 30 seconds for a paycheck with her ladybits covered in PS3 cartridges. Give me a break.

And the gettin' out of dodge theory? Yeah, totally reasonable. Let's tell EVERYONE who "doesn't belong" in a city with such high moral value to begin with to GTFO. Shit, I'm surprised y'all aren't my door with pitchforks and torches right now...IF YOU ONLY KNEW.
23
Blabby, I don't think Adams is a hero. I'm no great fan of Adams, in fact; however, I don't think that he should be held up to some ridiculous standards that no other politicians in Portland are being held to.

If you have a problem with "lying politicians," then go after all of them. Not just the one who you happen to personally dislike.
24
IDrinktheline WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AmFem now you are just being silly at this point almost as silly as Blabbasaur.
25
AFemme,
What Abusive said. You're ridiculous.

Sigh......ok, I'll play along. "IF YOU ONLY KNEW?" Something more you'd like to share or will you predictably reveal nothing regarding that statement you made?

I think we all know the answer. Seems like someone else here has a Breedlove-ian need for attention.

Good luck with that.

Please wait...
