GOOD MORNING, SMIRK!!! HOW ARE YOU?!?
2
San Francisco is our sister city?! Do they know about this? Most San Franciscans I've met immediately become very condescending whenever anyone mentions Portland (or Oakland, or Los Angeles, or New York, or pretty much anywhere else that isn't "The City".)

GOOD MORNING YOU GUYS!

@DMITRIR I BEG TO DIFFER. WHEN I LIVED IN SAN FRANCISCO LAST YEAR EVERYONE OOOHED AND AAAHED OVER PORTLAND ANYTIME I MENTIONED IT.
5
I THOUGHT SAPPORO WAS OUR SISTER CITY?
6
I think we have a lot of sister cities. Seattle, Vancouver, SF, Sapporo. Comingling between them makes all crazy.

@SMIRK: IT MAKES ME SAD WHEN YOU DON'T DO BASIC RESEARCH. PORTLAND HAS NINE SISTER CITIES. SEATTLE, SAN FRANCISCO, AND VANCOUVER ARE NOT ANY OF THEM

Ashkelon, Israel
Bologna, Italy
Guadalajara, Mexico
Kaohsiung, Taiwan
Khabarovsk, Russia
Mutare, Zimbabwe
Sapporo, Japan
Suzhou, China
Ulsan, Republic of Korea

@kiala, just about every San Franciscan I've ever met has been unbelievably impressed with themselves, and quick to put down anywhere else in America as inferior to SF in every way. That's why, after 3 months in "The City", I moved to Oakland.

SEE WHAT HAPPENED IS SAN FRANCISCO SAID PORTLAND IS LIKE A BROTHER TO HER. MAYBE THAT'S WHAT SMIRK MEANT.

Please wait...
