You've missed a huge chunk of what makes this game actually good; the multi-player (I mean, it doesn't surprise me that you can't find anyone willing to be in the same room with you for more than 15 minutes). If had you played the mult-player co-op, you'd find out that a lot of what makes this game good are the parts that involve old-school on the couch shit-talking and helping your buddies out. For instance; when you run out of HP, your compatriots are able to revive you without anyone losing a life. This actually creates a lot more strategy than just hitting square and triangle over and over again. Throw in some combo moves and the game gets a whole lot more fun.
