The last one's spot on. Great writer, awful singer. Covers of his songs are almost always better than the originals. There's not many artists you can say that about. It's no surprise his biggest 'hit' was Mr Tambourine Man, as covered by The Byrds.

That is complete nonsense.

Bob Dylan is over-rated. Unless you're chasing the dragon or over the age of 60.

Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your mouth,
Blowing down the backroads headin' south.
Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your teeth,
You're an idiot, babe.
It's a wonder that you still know how to breathe.

I'd love to hear what teens think of REAL crap from the 60's, like The Moody Blues, for example.
6
@tsw Great point. I assume kids today also hate the 1910 Fruitgum Company.

I can't get past the "they are only 39" part.

His parents. Only 39.

I just felt my mortality kick me in the face.

@Kiala,
I felt the same tinge of wounded mortality (sprinkled liberally with suspended immaturity) upon reading that, but just chose to ignore it.

Anyway, gotta go play with my cat!

I like Bob Dylan. What a bunch of un-finished human beings think doesn't really effect my feelings.

Still, it's interesting. They should follow up on this experiment with the same people in 10 years and see the result.

"Unfinished human beings": oh Do stop That.

I kinda wonder if they'd only played Bob's good stuff -"Blood on the Tracks," "Highway 61 Revisited", "Good as I Been to You," "The Basement Tapes," etc.- the results would have been different?
Probably not. People like what they like, and probably his being portrayed as some sort of songwriting god all these years doesn't actually help his case.

Instead of leaning punctuation and spelling in 10th grade English my teacher taught the worship of Dylan. So I also hate him. Thank you Miss Speedwell.

What the fuck is wrong with the Moody Blues? I'm pretty convinced you commenters have shit taste in music as well.

Please wait...
