Of all the Glee episodes I've witnessed, this was the most crap-tastic. Too many plotlines crammed into the ep, with the best one (Kurt's) marginalized at the end. So the meathead football player is actually gay?? Ohhhh, so THAT explains homophobia! Also Shuester kissing the Biest was ridiculous beyond words—and pretty goddamn cruel, now that I think about it. And while the Warblers' take on Katy Perry was ohhh-kay I guess (but still weird and random) the rest of the songs didn't really have much to do with ANYTHING. Glee? Today I booo thee. BOOOOO!!

Making a character homophobic because they are secretly gay is lazy.
Giving Beiste a kiss is cruel and patronizing.
I just read a review of this episode somewhere that makes the really astute point that if Glee wants to keep telling us to stop making fun of people like Coach Beiste (and Kurt, for that matter) it needs to stop making fun of people like Coach Beiste.

I agree - making the bully gay was a total cop-out. Having Artie love Brittany because they don't know what else for him to say is also lazy. So many plots in this show are lazy. And the thing with Beiste was hard to watch.

But the cover of Teenage Dream was a delight to watch! And I liked the boys' & girls' mashups.
