I was impressed with how in-front of the issues Tom Miller is willing to be already. He's already coined the phrase "true choice" to describe when someone can actually safely ride a bike or walk to the bus stop. Without proper active transportation infrastructure near their house, Portlanders don't have a true choice.
We haven't heard anything like that from such the Director position before, and as a safe streets advocate, it's really helpful to hear Tom holding no punches in his new leadership role. Judging from the attendance last night, he has a lot of support.

Portland is working very hard to protect cyclist by getting rid of people who have jobs and can afford cars.
