Blumenauer is obviously drunk in this photo. You can tell he's having trouble focusing. Rotgut liquor will eat through styrofoam in nothing flat, which is what he's actually upset about.

why not just use real plates and wash them?

Drink just straight from the Bottle! that`s what I do! No detergents going to sewers, no chemicals in my drink...that`s assuming that the bottle and the process which the drink underwent...Uhm.

Hell, I thought we banished styrofoam cups in the 90's??

When you dig into the details it turns out Styrofoam cups were less environmentally irresponsible and paper cups were just green washing. I have a large boring paper that makes the same point as here: http://www.ecojoes.com/styrofoam-cups-vs-p…
