Aw, that is sad. I had seen him a time or two on CC but followed him on LCS. Didn't like him at first but he grew on me. 44 is way too young, people!!! RIP paisano.

One thing is bugging me though.. who in Portland says "every time I go to New York..."?

Honestly, I didn't know of Mike DeStefano (outside of a "haven't I heard that name before?" kinda thing) before his death hit the Twitter news cycle amongst my comedian friends last night, but I looked him up afterwards to satisfy my curiosity, and I have to say, the guy had skills in a very classic, "real stand up" kind of way. It's tragic for anyone to die so young, but I'm especially bummed to see such talent vanish.

Oh man, that is awful. Like a lot of folks, I discovered his talent only recently, but his was my favorite kind of comedy: angry cynicism tempered by redemption and empathy. He will be greatly missed. And yes, his recent interview on Maron's podcast was astounding, I would recommend it to anybody who hasn't listened to it yet.
