Have an acquaintance that divorced her husband, one of the main reasons was he never could go a single conversation with anyone without mentioning his job. Sure enough, every single conversation I had with this guy was job related (I was in a similar field,) and she was not exaggerating. We all thought about having a drinking game related to this but never got around to it before the divorce.

As a giant nerd, I have to agree. It is totally obvious when I'm talking about something that is over someone's head, or is uninteresting to them. This guy needs friends with whom he can talk about this stuff, or he needs to keep it to himself. And if he can't, and he acts like a bitch if someone gets bored, he needs to marry someone who is interested in that crap.
