I know that I will probably stop reading the NYT when it goes to a pay system, and that's saying something, since I've used it as my home page for many years now.

Still, there are other news outlets of comparable quality, the UK Guardian, Washington Post and a few others come to mind, and a whole lot of internet content to take its place.
