Now we countdown to Suzanne Bonamici saying she's in: 10.....9......

I don't know Witt, but Bonamici or Avakian would both be great replacements.

What've we got to do to get Jefferson Smith to run?
3
Glad he's out, but I can't help but think about the safety (or not) of his seat. He was preceded by a Democrat, but the 1998 election between him and his Republican opponent was pretty close. It'll be interesting to see if the First District will actually stay blue. Here's hoping Wu hasn't sullied the party's brand too much there.

Deserves it. That rug really tied the room together.
5
The final scandal that brought Wu down is actually bad news for Republicans. Their only hope of take his seat was if Wu had run for reelection in 2112, and his opponents in the primary had split the vote.
6
@Graham Why would people from Beaverton/Nike/Intel vote for someone who represents east Portland?

7
@SC: Why would they vote for a Furry/rapist?
8
Wu-hoo!
9
@dmitrir: the Republicans have a pretty good chance of taking the seat in 2112. Their candidate could probably get the endorsement of the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx, as long as he or she kept his or her copy of Atlas Shrugged well hidden.
10
@Graham - One of the limiting factors here is that candidates have to actually live in the district. Jefferson Smith lives in the district he represents statewide, East Portland, so he's out.

@smirk Exactly.

@G I would vote for a furry rapist (although, not a rapie-looking furry), but I'm just kool like that
13
@smirk: No, actually they don't (see:Delia Lopez running against Blumenauer from her Medford home). But it sure helps get you support.

If Oregometry's right, then could we get Dennis Kucinich as our Congressman? His district's disappearing and he's looking for a new one:

Damn, Oregometry is right. You only have to be a resident of the state if you're a congressional representative. State reps and senators, on the other hand, do have to live in their district. #TheMoreYouKnow

I hate it when I'm wrong.
