Really interesting post. Obviously, Dan Savage is not exactly a safe bet for politicians (wasn't your last article about incest?). So it is pretty obvious why republicans would distance themselves from him.

But the President of the United States, the Prime Minister of England, the Secretary of State, etc. etc. have all participated in the "It Gets Better" project. The fact that zero Republicans have participated does speak to the core values of their political philosophy. Which is no big deal if you are a straight, male WASP. But for the rest of the country, that has to be a bit troublesome
