I rated Kappaya as having the best quality fish of any sushi joint in Portland, consistently. The fact that it is going to be replaced by another Ricker joint really sucks because they're kind of overpraised for what they are.

I'm sure it will probably be good, BUT THIS CITY DOES NOT NEED ANY MORE THAI JOINTS. How about one decent Chinese place? Or some better Japanese? Or some good Malaysian to replace the closed Kinta and Malay Satay Hut? Burmese? ANYTHING EXCEPT ANOTHER THAI PLACE for fuck's sake.

So sad to see this place change ownership/close. I used to live right behind it and Terry & Nory are cool as hell, and genuinely nice dudes. They have/had some of the best sushi in town.
