NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE MINUTIA OF YOUR ORGANIZING STRUCTURES. THIS JUST MAKES THE WHOLE MOVEMENT LOOK LIKE INCOMPETANT IDIOTS. THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY STRUCTURE IS DESTOYING THE MOVEMENT. THE DEBACLE WITH MAIN STREET ILLUSTRATED THAT TO EVERYONE WATCHING. ALSO, LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED IN SEATTLE (WESTLAKE, LOLWUT?!1).

HOW COME THE MERCURY ISN'T REPORTING ON THE FACT THAT MEMBERS OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE WERE ABSTAINING FROM ATTENDING THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY BECAUSE OF THREATS OF VIOLENCE AGAINST THEM?

"The finance committee has been verbally and physically assaulted repeatedly since even before the occupation." http://occupypdx.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f…

Anarchy broke out at their corporation!

No clear adjenda on which to focus, disarray within the group concerning finances, physical threats made amongst members of the group, and then throw in problems with drugs, drunkeness, and fights and the public tiring of them, etc.
And Paul critisizes the mainstream media for its' coverage.
what a joke.

At this point I'm starting to think this whole thing is performance art. They can't be serious, can they? This is like everyone's worst nightmare about the laughable incompetence of earnest student government people from high school trying to run the world.

Time for an "Occupy Occupy Portland" movement to spring up. Which park?

I got a headache just reading that. Either its badly written or incredibly complicated / corrupt all of sudden. FOR a bunch of ANARCHISTS AGAINST THE MONEY SYSTEM it's kinda funny. Heh

Political camping trips are...fun/expensive/political/boring/serious/silly/
communal/rightous/cool/misunderstood/ just not Frank's thing/hell on the back/underrated/necessary/scrumdididdlyumptous/only the begining/unproductive/for the whole family/not sustainable/full on ready for a Hallween extraveganza. Hey, that's it! The camp can start up a haunted house for profit. Ya, we can all dress up. Let's use the money we've made to buy makeup and masks. It'll be awesome! C'mon you guys, you never want to do any of my ideas!

Allegations of any kind of 'assault' on Finance Committee sketchballs made by another commenter are misdirection...no one who knows anything about OccupyPortland would be worried about assault at GA...there are always cops present not to mention the highly effective system OccupyPortland has for keeping the peace

Its a misdirection meant to confuse a simple issue: people made a non-profit in OccupyPortland's name and were taking donations via PayPal...without oversight...

That's a HUGE NO-NO and the GA was right to bust them hard for it...

but...any allegations or fears of 'assault' are completely bullshit...please ignore ;)

I have been to every GA since the beginning except for three. Most of them are on Livestream. All of them have notes. There has NEVER been an assault at a GA. The Finance Committee didn't want to have to answer for their actions; that is why they didn't show. When pressed (on camera) Reid Jackson promised that the former Finance Committee would not set up a 501-c-4 or any other corporation or entity without going to the GA. He lied. The paperwork at that point had already been put in motion, and was evident on Monday when it became public knowledge.
The Paypal owner is working with the movement as a whole to transfer the funds out of his name and into a legal framework for the organization, the website domain and attached emails have been returned, and there is a working group established to deal with the financial details associated with Occupy Portland. Yes, democracy is a messy business; but a goal worth pursuing nonetheless. The important thing to walk away from this is: RESPECT THE PROCESS. Transparency, accountability, and community are all top priorities. If these ideas are violated by any individual or group within Occupy Portland, the group as a whole will respond. We have brought this issue to a satisfactory conclusion for now... more updates to come. Thank you to those who support our goals and stances. We are working very hard for you each and every day...from tents. It's not easy, but we are doing our best.

Despite all the updates to this "story," Graham still said it best:

"NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE MINUTIA OF YOUR ORGANIZING STRUCTURES. THIS JUST MAKES THE WHOLE MOVEMENT LOOK LIKE INCOMPETANT IDIOTS."

What was your message again, OccupyPDX?

Occupy Wall Street's ability to keep speaking up for the 99% depends in part on their ability to hold out against the winter weather. And that depends on their having the right supplies—sub-zero sleeping bags, long underwear, and warm hats and gloves. If you have any of these items—or can go buy them today—and are willing to donate, . Your contributions will make a huge difference in ensuring that Occupy Wall Street can keep up their good work. We've also helped put together a new site, OccupyWishList.org, that lets Occupy groups around the country list the supplies they need and lets people like you help fill those needs. Many of those occupations can accept shipped donations, so even if you can't make it down to Occupy Wall Street today, you can help occupiers from Albany to Anchorage get ready for cold weather. Check out what's needed here: http://occupywishlist.org Thanks

Please wait...
