Look.. of course Occupy Portland is not going to make a press release saying that they are a threat to public safety..
But they know that they are not in any way contributing positively to the community. Many, many times I have spoken with people at General Assembly and around camp who are very frustrated, exhausted, and on the verge of simply giving up because they can't think of any more ways to sugar coat the truth enough so that it sounds plausible. I have been at the camp nearly since the beginning, and my opinions are probably the least popular of anyone there. Not because I am against anything Occupy Portland does or stands for, but because I am pragmatic and realistic about public relation concerns and refuse to sugar coat or talk about the problems with such political double speak that nothing actually gets said and thusly done..
