I was a little surprised how much attention Portland got when I was watching the Newshour last night - one of the best news shows out there.
Mark Shields and David Brooks discussion just after this segment was good too, about occupy.
While I am no fan of Adams, I thought he came across well, if a little nervous / shakey in his voice. (he has never addressed a national audience of this level before, right?)
Jim started out rather badly I thought - sounding like a politician refusing to answer questions asked of him and reading from his 'core statement' list. He got better as the segment went on though.

Yeah, i agree, i thought Sam Adams did very well, acknowledging the aims of Occupy as something he values.

No updates?
Hasn't there been 2 more heoin OD's since this segment on the Newshour appeared?
I saw pictures of those rocks -- and yes, they were of very throwable size.
No National Guard either, from last I heard.

'Chill drums?'

You lose.

I'd be very surprised if the cops make their move at 12:01. The bars are all still open, the city swarming with saturday night partiers.
Doesn't make sense.
If I were the cops, I'd wait till about 4 in the morning.

PBS said our overdoses were fatal. I thought they were non-fatal. Did PBS get something wrong? How could that be??
I wish all news was like this. So calm and rational.

Also that green screen backdrop of the skyline is really funny. Adams and Oliver are not hanging out at the Japanese Gardens talking to PBS.

Mark Shields also called Jim 'Jeffrey'.
I didn't catch that they said the OD's were fatal though...

Please wait...
