I'd bet that the "guy who sounds STARTLINGLY LIKE the Mountain Goats" was Portland's own David Rovics (who has actually been performing roughly the same number of years as Darnielle). Excellent topical songwriter, that Rovics.

This has been a very convenient distinction for them hasn't it? Everything bad that happens is by someone who "isn't part of the movement." They started the camp but have to accept no responsibility for it.

@Blabby and franlieb....pretty much. Is'nt that how all movements/cults/general chaos operates though? I think if you subtract the stoned hippies, street kid scum, idiot college kids playing "social protest", homeless, drug addicts, criminals and rave kids (Reed closed?) there are probably like 43 people in "the movement".
