Alan Sues always fell into a strange category for me: the sub-Paul Lynde/Charles Nelson Reilly variety that was also too old for the Jim J. Bullock crowd. The fact that his catchphrase was, "He hit me, HE HIT MEEE!!!" was depressing rather than funny...I dunno.

I didn't see LAUGH-IN first-run, they didn't let us stay up that late at the orphanage. But I saw some episodes on PBS and VHS. Sad about Alan. Let's just hope that every time a bell rings, an angel gets his tinkle.
