so if trickle down economic theory is supposed to be about rich peoples ' money trickling down to make these sort of budget cuts unnecessary, why aren't our local millionaires, who after all, got rich off of our money, stepping up to fill these budget holes?

Phil Knight, the FLIR guy, Bob Pamplin, there are a ton of these guys in and around Portland who owe a whole lot of their fortunes to Portland and environs.

In fact, every developer who benefited from urban renewal funding or other special consideration from the PDC and PDS should be as well, recently that includes Homer Williams and Gerding Edlen, among others.

Without maintaining and improving our parks and roads, Portland will never be the world class city it wants to be / thinks it is.
