Speaking of 2017, did you know that a total eclipse of the sun is coming to the Northwest? And in August, so we might be able to actually see it. I can't tell from the map whether totality will be visible in Portland or if we'll all have to drive down to Champoeg Park or, God help us, Salem. Anybody know?

I saw the 1979 eclipse when I was 13 years old. My uncle and I had to head out to freakin' Yakima to escape the clouds, and even then it was a close thing.
