Isn't 'occupy' not planning on letting the details of where the march will go beforehand, as is required by the city?
Well, I'd expect arrests too. It is already starting in a confrontational manner.

Frankieb, Occupy has a peaceful agenda. What has consistently OCCurred is that marches get kettled for no reason. This must be what the adjective in the PD missive means by 'vigorously'. If you have not viewed some footage of PD abuses from many OCCUPY marches all over the country, including PDX's PD they are on youtube and a host of video sites and websites. Please don't overlook the forest for the trees. Occupy is peaceful but they don't need to set themselves to get abused by over 'vigorous' arrest techniques. If 2011 was the "Year of the Protester", Time magazine can certainly call 2012 "The Year of
the Faceless Stormtrooper".

Note: I am not being angry or putting you down. I am sincerely trying to communicate. I add that as these forums can get so mean-spirited. It is part of the 'trickle down' from corporations and GOP government to be intolerable bullies with each other. Thanks for considering.

Not giving details is hardly confrontational, it's a smart move to keep the cops off their asses. And I looooove the PPB's "business must be able to conduct business".... nobody is out protesting locally owned and operated corporations that serve the community while treating employees fairly and respecting the environment. However, they ARE out there to gut the corporations that aren't.

Strange, I thought keeping details of where the march was going was an effort to get as much attention as possible while disrupting as many people as possible.
I mean, OBVIOUSLY it hasn't worked to keep the cops away, right?

Yes, and maybe this year they'll keep the Rose Festival parade route secret. That's a grand idea.
