It's not a shitty game for the reasons they're talking about, it's the reasons a friend of mine called up to tell me about the other night. That everything done in the previous two games has zero baring on the third...that the plot is filled with inconsistencies and holes to drive trucks through, particularly with the "Day one, DLC" nonsense along with the nonsensical character construction of the protagonist. As my friend spoke, I had to ask if Lucas had a hand in making this game (feeling fortunate I never played any of them and do not plan to do so).
The homosexual portions included are just fine, unless you're a homophobe I suppose (the Intarwebz are a vast desert wasteland of mismatched clothing clad miscreants that only wish to hurt, maim and kill you after all - a la Fallout). The part I found hilarious was that this protagonist turns out to be a bottom after being touted as this big, tough guy who takes more dominant roles typically. This, to me, with all the gathered faults, is Bioware saying to all the "biodrones" that they are fucking them in the ass with this installment and enjoying spreading their santorum all over their customer's back-sides.
Done sharing!
Now can somebody lend me a decent game for the afternoon?

Well, yeah. Who are you going to believe? I don't think gaming journalists were bought off with cocaine and yachts (everybody knows hookers come standard with both, no need to mention it) but your apparent sarcasm would suggest that gaming critics "should" be the ones to believe. To boot, you threw in two comments from purely disgusting individuals who either never played the first two games or are employees at Fox News. However, sir, you failed to mention the other two hundred plus reviews contained well-reasoned arguments from sane individuals, many of whom are just as savvy, well-informed and adoring of good games as your coke-addicted critics. I love Mass Effect. It's my favorite game series as of yet. And frankly, I'm struggling just to find enjoyment in the end of Shepard's story.

To answer your rhetorical question, critics are video game fans who get paid for their opinions. The common rabble have internet connections and big mouths (and yes, sometimes a lot of ugly, misguided hatred). Each individual should play the game and decide for themselves if they enjoy this new, GoW styled ME to the prior games. But no one should make a decision based on the opinion of some faceless internet entity, be they professional critics with fancy words or amateur ones with, at best, the earnest intention of venting.

Why didn't you post the real reasons why the game is so bad?

1. Well-written, immersive story in ME1, poorly written story in ME2 and ME3.

2. Wide range of useful powers in ME1, very limited range of useful powers in ME2 an ME3. Making each of the tougher enemies have a special “defense” that can only be damaged by certain powers means that you end up using said powers over, and over, and over, and OVER again. This is so boring that it is ridiculous. Never had this problem whatsoever in ME1, as any power could potentially be useful and fun.

3. Ability to equip teammates’ armor in ME1, complete inability to do so in ME2 and ME3.

- “Crappiest change of the sequel so far in my opinion.....'oh, people like making Wrex look really badass in X armor? yeah, lets take that ability away for the sequel'”

- “Kinda upset by this............they took out all the customization options”

4. Planetary exploration extremely immersive in ME1, utterly horrible in ME2 and ME3.

5. Forcing Shepard to work for Cerberus in ME2 was one of the stupidest moves in the entire history of role-playing games. So much for choosing your own path. Also, killing him only to magically resurrect him minutes later was utterly senseless.

--------

The bottom line is that ME2 eliminated nearly all of the elements made the original game so good, and ME3 simply failed to restore most all of these elements. The franchise has become nothing but an action shooter with almost no good RPG elements remaining. If you are easily impressed with above-average graphics and combat, then you may actually like ME3…

…but if you want a real RPG, play ME1 or something else. ME2 and ME3 are downright pitiful in comparison.

“Mass Effect 1 is the best in series and it will remain this way.”

“Overall ME is still my favorite.”

“Honestly if you want a traditional RPG, ME1 is the one to go with.”

“For story and epic feel - Mass Effect 1.”

“Bioware has gone to hell ever since they were taken over by EA.”

Case closed.

Lets see, who should I believe, the gaming journalists or the people who believe in the invisible guy in the sky. I guess i have to stick with the journalists. Man do i hate people that think they know how everyone should live and how they should be able to have a game their way, but not the gays. I'm straight by the way and it was people like you that trurned me into an athiest. If you religious nuts all had your way, everyone that didn't act or think like you would be dead. good thing there isn't a god, cause according to all you nutcases, he would destroy any people that didn't believe in him, all gays, all people who use drugs, all free thinkers, people who believe in evolution, people who smoke, drink, swear, when would it stop?, after the whole world was gone. I do think the game is kind of lame because of the choices you have to make. Seems everyone you like has to die. I play games to feel like i'm havinng a fun adventure, not feel like everyone i make friends with dies. so I won't get it for that reason. I played a frfiends version and so far in his game he lost Ashley, Tali and mordin. these are all characters we like and don't want to lose. I played about 3 hiurs and lost ashley, went back muliple times and there was no way to save her, Real lame bioware. Bioware I think will lose on this one because of that. But if they come out with dragon age 3 and it's what the people have been asking for and not another bullsh*t thing like this, the stores will be packed with people buying it. It'll have sex and gay in it, won't matter, what does is the story. They did so good with dragon age origins, awakening mass efect 1 and 2, then screwed up with dragon age 2 and mass 3 . Why, because the original owners sold to a big corporation, now it's all about money.

Are these people retarded? The game is marketed towards children? Oh yea, that mature rating really screams "this game is for kids!" WTF is wrong with that idiot, I'd bet he's never played a single Mass Effect game.

Please wait...
