Candy Candy isn't as insanely brilliant as Pon Pon Pon (which, to be fair, is the greatest video ever made), but it's still pretty damn great.

Tommy, jeez, it is just some 'sweet', innocent J-POP.
I would argue that our own society, with its' obsession with Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, etc etc is much much weirder.

Not exactly sweet and innocent. This is a brilliant homage to shoujo-ai. Which is why the masked poseur is rejected. Like the onion, you gotta peel beneath the surface to get to the good stuff. And remember... Whats pink and chewy :)
