I've assumed that mustache was a brain-eating parasite for years. At least now I have some kind of proof.

Sure, and women who wear short skirts are asking for it.... Fuck you Geraldo.

"Presented to you without commentary, judgement, analysis, or insight"....so the regular Bobby Roberts post ?

Geraldo is right; he's just expressing something known to all non-white people. Commonly referred to as the Brown Man's Burden, non-whites cannot wear a hooded sweatshirt, gold jewelry, leg warmers, capri pants or crocs without EXPECTING to be shot dead.

You know, in his own blithely idiotic and insensitive way, Gerald-O does have a bit of a point, in a general sense.

Racists will indeed use other visual markers aside from just the perceived characteristics of a person's race in order to categorize them as a "threat". Think about it for a second. If some lower than average IQ racist dickwad like this Zimmerman fellow had seen Tim Meadows walking in his neighborhood, he probably would still have been suspicious, but maybe not as inclined to engage and confront hm.

Now, if it had been Wiz Khalifa walking down the street instead, Zimmerman probably would've shot him from behind a tree or something.

Racists don't need an excuse to be racist. Most people understand that, I think. But if racists have some other visual marker to point to, such as one that can be associated with gang violence, for instance, then (they probably think) their racism can obfuscated a bit, and their culpability reduced when something, like the tragic slaying of this poor kid happens.

Still no excuse for bringing up Hoodies (or sweatshirt hoodies) as indicators of any sort.

I haven't even thought about Geraldo for years before this. So, way to go Geraldo?

I commented on Lars Larsons facebook post regarding this shooting after someone commented on Zimmerman following a "suspicious" person. My comment " What made him "suspicious"? His clothing? or the fact he was black? Apparently no one wants to say this". I did not use the words "profiling" or "racism'. Yet the next 50 plus comments were highly defensive and decried the notion that any element of racism was present. Predictable, but not indicative of any progress in this country. Lars is what he is (a jackass who likes inciting things and banging the drum for the far right), still it disturbs me somewhat if this is a sampling of what Americans think in this case.

Geraldo, fashion consultant to the kids of America, and keeping them safe in the bargain! But wait, won't the hoodie industry be hurt?? Stay tuned, Geraldo's going to open Gucci's vault to find out if there's a new design for the youth of America, one that won't attract polic attention...the "Hood"-aldo, no sweatshirt, just a hood! farewell hoodie, hello "hood"-aldo!

Please wait...
