What's sad is that she's already overexposed and yet she feels a need to keep shilling trendy, sweatshop-made products. Hard to believe she needs the money that badly. Maybe it's also about conceit and narcissism.
2
Or maybe she is just doing her job. She's an actress and entertainer, endorsing consumer products kinda goes with that these days
3
I would like to see Zooey Dachshundel, Katy Perry, and that chick from Karmen remove their eyeballs and stuff them into their throats. Whimsically.
4
Awaiting Zooey's endorsement deals for kittens, yarn, and bubbles.
5
Oh no the hipsters have turned on you , Zooey!

@2: "These days" has nothing to do with it: shilling corporate goods has gone with being an actor, musician, etc. for a long time -- but only for some, not all. When they pimp out their celebrity status to sell other people's products, they can lose many people's respect, especially when they don't even need the money and are already have some shallow persona foisted on everyone in almost every major media. It's just gross.

Geyser,

Need? I think you mean want. Also, when is what I(or in this case, a semi cross-eyed yet for some reason famous idiot) want up for public debate? So long as it isn't punching puppies or something.

Your value judgement of what you think she needs is sad and reeks of jealousy and conceit. The former being hysterical when you think about it.

Jealousy? She's not my girlfriend. Conceit? I'm an anonymous internet commenter and I know that here no one really gives a shit about me, or who I am, so there's no question of my opinions being conceits.
You ask since when has the way celebrities make their money (shilling sweatshop goods) and what makes them annoying and overexposed "up for debate"? Uh, for a long time. I guess puppies are simpler and easier for you to care about than the anonymous bodies that toil to assemble the latest gadgets that we're supposed to purchase and use without questioning the way they're produced and marketed.

Oh, and to explain what I meant about "need": if some actor, artist etc. is threatened with bankruptcy or IRS problems* etc., I'm inclined to cut them major slack if they need to go out and make some quick money. But if an already rich and successful artist goes out and endorses Rocket Fuel malt liquor or Taco Bell or whatever just to get more money, I think that's kind of sad.
* An artist I like a great deal, R. Crumb, agreed to appear in People Magazine once for this very reason, and he had the common decency to feel ashamed about it. Those are just my opinions, and it doesn't bother me if anyone else here doesn't share them and has a problem with me saying any of this.

Are you nerds seriously debating Zoey's acting ability or ethics? Who gives a shit? Btw, Cat and Beard...ouch! Look, Geyser (obviously concerned with ethics) has a point, but come on there are plenty of zero talent "faces" that have celebrity and money/endorsements and have no relevance to reality. C'est la Vie. I don't actually understand the Zoey Deschanel phenomenon. Very pretty, yes. Personality.......not so much, but bordering on pretentious and self absorbed (probably a god to hipsters). Acting talent.....Um, not so much, at least in anything I've seen her in. Oh, and I don't have or plan on getting an I phone. @5 haven't they turned on everything, or did I miss a meeting?
11
Wait, what's a hipster?

(asking for a friend)
12
sorry,

WAIT WHAT'S A HIPSTER

@Colin: it's our own little Blogtown version of Godwin's Law.

Geyser, you're not the only one whose not anonymous in the entertainment industry. (there's Iceprez, there's me, etc.) I guess you knew that. Well, not really.

Am concerned about Zooey Deschanel's iPhone. I guess she can make it crazy in one day. Or alternatively called "broken by unproper use, no warranty". We have to move forwards and start caring for the semi-robots already.
15
I think it's ridiculous that just because it rains in Sunny California, she has to send out for soup. And it's not even delivered by bicycle!!!

@COLIN: YOU'RE THE BESTEST!~!1

Please wait...
