What about Don almost falling down an empty elevator shaft? Metaphor for Don's eventual loss of Megan, or heavy-duty foreshadowing for the end of the series?

Good recap and thoughts (as usual), but yeah, no mention at all of Don staring into the elevator shaft? That was pretty clearly THE scene of the season so far.

So I thought that elevator shaft thing was a metaphor, that maybe it didn't actually happen, that Don was feeling the emptiness pretty hard at that moment, etc.

Don cutting "Tomorrow Never Knows" short was clearly the best part of the episode. And most telling.
