The city browbeats us about recycling correctly and riding bikes. It isn't a daycare center, it's our parents.

Yeah, that's why I ride my bike. The City kept browbeating me, so I was forced to give in.
Seriously, though, just learn how the recycling and yard waste/compost thing works and Just Do It. It's not a nefarious government plot, and it's not a big deal.

I found myself recently in the same situation as RadicalRuss. The only difference is that I'm not a fucking moron, so I put my bins out a day early and asked my neighbor to wheel them back in for me on trash day.

I just don't understand how some people make it to adulthood without poisoning or maiming themselves.

Rates not going down is bullshit. Other than that, bimonthly trash pickups have been fine, though it's just myself and the wife. It's especially nice to have yard debris pickup every week during the summer.

Chuck - try the once-a month schedule. Cheaper, and it works OK for just me and my wife here too. The brown trashcan they give you holds more trash than your average trash can too.

compost/yard debris pickup went from bimonthly to weekly, and trash went from weekly to bimonthly. Why the fuck should rates have gone down?
