Too late. I went looking for Mercury endorsements as I was filling out my ballot over the weekend, couldn't find 'em, so I went rogue. Not everyone waits until the last day to vote, you know.
2
The Merc's endorsements appeared in two different places on May 3. When I Google "portland mercury endorsements" the May 3 piece is the first result.
Not that I think anyone should use this sheet. It's a true cheat sheet, the first name being a cheat who voted here without claiming this as his residence or paying taxes here. And he claims to have read and liked all of James Howard Kunstler's books yet supports a $3.6 billion dollar highway expansion project. Ridiculous.

Oddly enough, I watched "Election" over the weekend. If you have Amazon Prime, it's free via Instant Streaming.

THE KING IN THE NORTH!

If it's Smith and Hales in the general, as is looking likely, it's gonna be a loooong summer around here.
7
I meant around this blog, with the Merc backing Hales and many of its readers and commenters (including yours truly) backing Smith. In other words, "Forget it, jake. It's Blogtown."
8
What is the Merc's record on picking winners?
9
We don't pick "winners," we pick the person that's right for the job. You pick "winners" and now and then, "losers."

Also, mes amis, keep in mind that we do this whole endorsement rigmarole once more in October, for the runoff/general in November. Thank us later.

Oh, Denis and Steve, you and I all know the Smith and Brady supporters will be too busy murdering each other in the streets to thank you. Lucky for you, if anyone makes electoral picks based on the candidate that has the least annoying internet supporters, your guy could run away with this one.

Ellen Rosenblum for Attorney General! We need an Oregon Attorney General in touch with Oregon priorities. Judge Rosenblum will protect the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program and treat marijuana as a low law enforcement priority, allowing law enforcement resources to be more effectively utilized fighting serious and violent crime. Unfortunately, her opponent attacks our medical law and doesn't believe that marijuana cases should be treated differently than any other law enforcement issue.

I can't believe y'all are giving Hales a pass on pulling a fucking Palin and quitting halfway through his last attempt at city government! If it didn't work for him last time, why would it this time?

"Right for the job " based on what criteria Humphrey, you clown? I really hope people do their research and are not relying on endorsements from a free paper that is largely focused on arts/entertainment. I seriously hope a large number of young people (assuming they will bother to vote and are not too apathetic) do not base their choices on your "endorsements" because the idea is laughable and you hardly have much of a track record now do you?

I AM SOOO ANGRY THAT AN ALT-WEEKLY DID NOT ENDORSE MY CANDIDATE!!!!

Please wait...
