I GAVE UP ON MATT DAVIS.

Harlan Ellison, although I think that's a case of growing out of him.

I really liked Cloud Atlas but everything else David Mitchell has written since has been not so great. He's still got another strike left.

I plan on never reading anything Ernest Cline writes after the shitfest that was Ready Player One.

Palahniuk after "Rant". Neal Stephenson after slogging two-thirds of the way through "Quicksilver".

Aw, I love me some Stepheonson. Anathem is the best book ever about Neo-Platonic alternate universe science monks.

Heinlein. I remember his stuff being really damn profound when I was fifteen. I can still read Asimov, Clarke, and Le Guin, but Heinlein's stuff is all didactic and eye roll inducing. Again, though, I think that was a process of growing up to realize Heinlein's kind of full of it/himself.

I haven't read Stranger in a Strange Land since college but I refuse to believe it ages badly.
