I guess Meagan is completely at fault for her father cheating before she was even born. And just because her parents taught her to be honest doesn't mean her parents were honest themselves - just as sometimes you tell your own kids to behave a certain way even if you've been guilty of not following your advice.

Seriously, stick to advice about dildos and butt fingering. Your attempts to politicize things have really hurt your credibility.

As to your first sentence there, yes indeed that would make him a fucking idiot, had he said that. But he didn't, so the rest of your complaint here rings a little hollow.

A lot hollow, actually. He was just responding to the black n' white that M. McCain was throwing out there: Bill Clinton cheated, so therefore only and always deplorable. Her father, on the other hand, is all things good because he taught her to be Honest. It's a minor hypocrisy, perhaps, but hypocrisy nonetheless.

bachelor: John met Cindy, and immediately he asked for a divorce (which his wife at the time granted). It's not nearly the same as Clinton's situation.

I'm a bleeding heart liberal as much as the next guy but this is blatantly two very different situations. Quit iconizing Bill Clinton. He did some ok things but overall he oversaw many horrific policies, in addition to cheating on his wife multiple times, lying to the entire country about it, then attempting to dispute the what the word "is" meant.

What McCain did is something that occurs with married couples every day. Someone comes across someone else, realizes that their heart is no longer with their spouse, and they ask for a divorce (and receive it). Meagan was not conceived during this period. Meagan was born in 1984. John's divorce was in 1980.

Just quit trying to say both situations are identical. They aren't.

Okay, that was even more things that I -in this case- didn't say. I don't iconize Bill Clinton; quite the opposite. But Megan McCain is for some reason trying to claim here that some of us deny that he's an adulterer, which I don't think any of us do...a cheap rhetorical trick.

My criticisms of Bill Clinton stand more in the neighborhood of the Defense of Marriage Act, Welfare "reform," NAFTA, and plenty of other shit that was just plain awful. But yes: he fucked around, too. We know.

And what John McCain did isn't uncommon either. The only thing I'm talking about (and Savage, too) is that his daughter is acting like being a cheater makes one automatically an irredeemable human being, which you can either agree or disagree with, but acts like her dad ain't in that category. When she was born isn't relevant to the discussion.

You just sound like you don't like Dan Savage, which is also fine, but your arguments against this post aren't any damn good. You might be letting your dislike cloud your reasoning.

Yes, I don't like Dan Savage because he twists reality and distorts it, just like the Republicans do.

Here is what Meagan McCain said: “The core actions — seducing a young woman and having her get you off — alone are deplorable, but then the way he went on to play the victim was ultimately worse.”

As you can see, she said HIS ACTIONS are deplorable, not the man himself. Dan Savage twisted it, and you blindly drank the kool aid.

Seriously, Savage needs to quit this bullshit. He's just as toxic and poisonous as those he rails against. All I ask for is the truth, Dan Savage doesn't provide it.
6
Oh shit: nobody drank the fucking "kool aid." If you would like to be viewed as something other than some lame troll -a mere contrarian- you need to do better than that.

7
Nice save. Face it, you blindly believed Dan, I showed you how he misconstrued the quote, and you were left with nothing else to say than to accuse me of being a troll. A+

Here's a hint: don't be so naive in believing everything you read, especially from someone who's primary occupation is giving advice on butt plugs. Take the time to do a little Googling and dig to the bottom of things. You'll look like far less of an ignorant jackass next time. Cheers.
8
Arenit, accusing others of distorting facts while not understanding the significant distortion in McCain's excerpt makes you look like an illiterate moran.

There's one ignorant jackass here, and it's (this time) not Dan Savage or rich bachelor.
9
@DRUNKWRITE: WRONG! ALL FOUR OF THE PEOPLE INVOLVED ARE IGNORANT JACKASSES.
10
This is reminiscent of Savage's stance that 40 year olds dating 18 year olds was wrong, until Sam Adams did it. Then it was okay.
11
Chuck: Exactly. With Dan, it's always "if the shoe fits".

Please wait...
