I own Sparrow, but it was never as good as Mail on OS X, and it didn't have push on iOS.
Google has a habit of buying services I like and turning them into shells of their former selves, if they don't discard them completely. But in this case I'm optimistic that the Sparrow folks will finally have the resources they need to make their apps better.
