A fine example of government regulations killing innovation.

The federal government is so screwed. Can we just dismantle it and hand everything over to the states yet?

The new federal guidelines are robust and very good- many of us fought very hard to get them. PPS does not "slop" out food to schools other than Abernathy, and it it is insulting for you to say that. Critics of school food should 1) eat at a school sometime and see what is actually there and 2)try to make food for 40,000 kids for $2.50 each. The goal is for healthy foods for all schools not just a school that has wealthy well connected parents.

To the comment posted by rd46: i have been a teacher for ten years, i eat these school lunches. I also happen to own & operate a restaurant, and have been a coach for all this same time. i can definitively say the nw guidlines make school lunches in my building worse, food waste is way up, and there is no longer any made from scratch food. These guidlines shackle innovation, shamefully waste food, and are so burdensome that the list of negatives far outweigh any positves. Dont act like "outsiders" could not possibly understand or havent eaten these lunches you seem to be an authority on. Just because lunch ladies lovingly and faithfully dole out the grub doesnt mean it aint slop!
