I DON'T GET THE LENA DUNHAM THING. GIRL IS 26 YEARS OLD AND CAN RELATE TO THE TWENTY-SOMETHING CONDITION. GREAT. HOW DOES THAT TRANSLATE INTO A MULTIMILLION-DOLLAR BOOK ADVANCE AND THE AMOUNT OF ATTENTION SHE RECEIVES?

SHE WROTE A SUCCESSFUL TV SHOW. THAT'S TO BE LAUDED. BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY SHE IS SUDDENLY THE NEXT OPRAH.

D&W: SOMEONE HAS TO WIN THE UNDESERVED ATTENTION LOTTERY. AT LEAST THIS TIME IT WAS SOMEONE SMART AND TALENTED RATHER THAN SNOOKIE.
3
AMEN, GRAHAM. I CAN ACCEPT THAT EXPLANATION.
4
^^^^^^^^:

picture two grown men in an elevator screaming the above conversation to each other.
5
People are actually angry at that ad. That's astounding to me. Maybe I'm just too crass/lowbrow in general, but I'm having a hard time finding ANYTHING in that ad that could be, in the slightest way, considered poor taste.
6
Mostly that just made me feel old.
7
Why is Justin Bieber making an Obama campaign commercial?

Just buy your own birth control and be responsible. Other than that, the metaphor was labored... but otherwise ok.
8
OH, HE'S HERE!
9
ALSO, GRAHAM AND I WERE ON A PARK BENCH WHEN WE HAD THAT CONVERSATION, YOU WHIPPERSNAPPER.
10
I HAVE VOICE IMMODULATION SYNDROME.

You get used to it after a while...

YOUNG PEOPLE ANNOY AND FRIGHTEN ME. THIS IS AN INCREASINGLY WORRISOME PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, PEOPLE.

THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME SHARE THIS WITH YOU ALL, I FEEL LIKE WE'VE MADE SOME PROGRESS HERE.

A political ad implied the existence of sex! Everyone freak out and pay attention to it!

Cool icon, Spaceman.

SJR - Did you know that insurance will pay for boner pills but not birth control?
14
Wow. You sure know a lot about boner pills, ROM.

In all seriousness, people should pay their own way regarding birth control. Same thing with boners pills and "gender reassignment surgery" etc. I'll put it to you like this. Would you ask your neighbor to buy you a pack of rubbers or birth control pills? Then why would you have the government spend money and time taxing your neighbors for that very purpose? Do you honestly believe government subsidies are going to solve teenage pregnancy issues?

There are people on the right that are just plain dumb. The "legitimate rape" comments and "women's bodies rejecting sperm after rape" is just plain dumb. But Romney doesn't stand for that. Not in the least. Neither do most level-headed conservatives and independents. But just like on the left, extremism exists. I condemn both and staunchly disapprove of extremists attempting to dictate to us all or manipulate the truth to further an agenda. THAT happens far more on the left as the left has seemingly lost their moral compass in pursuit of power.

Also, if Romney is so against women, why is he dead even with Obama in the polls now with women voters? This is a huge turn around and it goes to show negative campaigning and fear-mongering can backfire on you. Some of it is just plain out of line.

Romney will make a great president. We're not going back to the 50s and he isn't even going to touch Roe vs. Wade. There is no "war on women". It's all just a ploy to scare women into voting for Democrats and Obama and frankly, it's not working. Just do some fact checking. I don't really endorse any website but just google "presidential fact check" and go from there. Please do some research and you might just come away with a sharper, more informed perspective.

The Justin Bieber lookalike in the vid above has her views. There are many women who would disagree with her on the issues she spoke about. She doesn't speak for all women and she certainly doesn't come off like she is very knowledgeable, generally speaking. She is just stating the same, tired liberal voter crap, really. Of course she is. If she wasn't a hipster trying act all cool and hardcore about her ideology then she would never make it into the blog.

Your ignorance is the stuff of legend. And you're a long-winded asshole.
16
"I'll put it to you like this. Would you ask your neighbor to buy you a pack of rubbers or birth control pills?"

And I'll put it to you like this: If you're PAYING for an insurance plan, would you be super pissed if your insurance plan covered contraception?

And yes, I believe public education and social services can help reduce teenage pregnancies. And parents can help, too!

Lena Dunham wants you to know that she, like, totes has a Black friend.

Please wait...
