I do think Portland theaters could stand to look at plays that a. had more race-blind casting and/or b. were about the contemporary experience of racism. The closest thing that comes to mind would be Portland Playhouse's "Brother/Sister Plays" from 2012, but that show wasn't necessarily about contemporary racism, but more about the African American experience in general. Wait, wait, I've got it! If we're talking about looking at race through a contemporary lens, then we need not look any further than one David Simon...
