If the showings are otherwise profitable, the employer will soon hire additional part time employees to cover the temporarily cut schedule. O'bamass' insurance mandate will therefore stimulate the economy and reduce unemployment.

None of the places you mentioned are big full time employers. I'm guessing. I would like to know how many full time employees any one of the theaters you mentioned employs vs. Regal? How many full time employees does Roseway employ vs. Regal? How many full time employees does Cinetopia employ vs. Regal? Do any of those places operate 500 theaters in 38 states? Just wondering. You're the journalist that is supposed to provide these kinds of answers. I'm guessing they cut the hours of thousands of full time employees because they actually employ thousands of full time employees.

I go to quite a few movies but the majority of the time I'm taking advantage of our many low-price local theaters. Every now and then I do hit the old Regal for a new release but I'm more than happy to put an end to that now. Way to be cocks.

They're cutting the hours of thousands of employees because they don't want to lose money paying for health care but the real reason they're losing money is because they gouge customers with high ticket prices and high concession prices. When there are so many alternative, cheaper ways to watch movies, why would you waste money on these a-holes? Somehow Costco and Trader Joe's manage to offer consistently low prices while offering their thousands of full-time employees livable wages AND healthcare, all while reporting high profits:

True, but non of these "billion great non-regal theaters" offer benefits or even full time employment. Also, Mr. Henriksen I noticed you failed to include Mcmennamins, the only other non-regal theater in town that offers benefits.
6
Yeah, but these other theaters aren't cutting current full-time employees down to part time just to save a buck. Total dick move, Regal.
7
Thanks for the reminder, dawson—totally forgot to mention McMenamins' theaters.

This just puts the nail in the coffin - Regal is the wasted sperm of the corporate world. I wish their employees the best but I hope the company goes under or gets bought out by a responsible, not-full-of-BS, owner.
